Omy Naidoo is a Registered Dietician who qualified in 2008 from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. He then went on to work in government and moved into the pharmaceutical industry. His key focus was diabetes products. This enabled Omy Naidoo to further his knowledge and skills in terms of diabetes management. Omy Naidoo thereafter, went into private practice and has grown the Newtricion Wellness brand into one of South Africa’s leading Dietician practices.
Kashmira Sewgambar is a Registered Dietician who graduated from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, PMB. Thereafter she conducted her community service year in Maphumulo, North of Durban, where she learned more about the African culture and to communicate in isiZulu. She joined the practice with a focus on clinical dietetics, working within Life Westville and Busamed Gateway Hospital. Kashmira has a passion for treating chronic illness and has completed the online Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (CDE) course to assist with diabetic patients. In an effort to effectively use dietary treatment for a variety of conditions within the community, she sees patients across Durban. She has a passion for cooking and baking. Her experience in the kitchen helps provide healthy ingredient choices and alternative cooking methods for a more nutritious meal.
Stacey-Leigh Pillay is a Registered Dietician who qualified from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Then proceeded to complete her community service year at Christ The King District hospital, where she worked passionately with surgical, medical, paediatric and maternity patients in a clinical and community setting. She was able to gain a vast wealth of knowledge in various conditions with a vast majority of these being diseases of lifestyle, such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. She joined Newtricion Wellness Dieticians and is currently based at the Pietermaritzburg practice. Her main hospitals include Medi-Clinic Pietermaritzburg Hospital, Net care Saint Anne’s Hospital, DayMed Hospital and Eden Gardens Hospital. She also consults at all of the Newtricion Wellness Dieticians outpatient facilities in Pietermaritzburg. She is passionate about ensuring people aim towards the best version of themselves through adopting a healthy lifestyle as a way of life.
Leah Bianca Yegambaram
Leah is a Registered Dietician who qualified from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Her community service year was spent at Estcourt Provincial hospital, where she worked very closely with surgical, medical and paediatric patients in a clinical setting. She joined Newtricion Wellness Dieticians and is currently based at the Pietermaritzburg practice. Her main hospitals include Medi-Clinic Pietermaitzburg Hospital and Netcare Saint Anne’s Hospital. She also visits all of the Newtricion Wellness Dieticians outpatient facilities in Pietermaritzburg. She has experience with treating in-hospital patients, outpatient consultations, corporate wellness events, health talks and writing articles. Managing food allergies and intolerances lie close to her heart as she was diagnosed with multiple food allergies in 2011. This ordeal helped her gain a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in managing food allergies and intolerances. She also takes a keen interest in sports nutrition. She believes that good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle.
Chloe Dyer is a registered Dietician who qualified from the University of Cape Town. She thereafter joined Umtata Hospital for community Service where she was develop her interest for medical Nutrition therapy, especially in the critically ill patients. Chloe heads up the Ballito part of the practice and is located within the Active Care Clinic in Ballito Junction mall. In the state of the art facility Chloe consults with patients for conditions including Sports Nutrition, weight management, food allergies and various other conditions. Chloe also has a key interest in clinical management of in hospital patients and covers Victoria Mediclinc Hospital, as well as Netcare Alberlito Hospital.
Annaleen Joubert is a Registered Dietician who qualified from Stellenbosch University. Her community service year was spent at Central Karoo Hospital, in De Aar, Northern Cape. There she worked closely with medical, maternity and paediatric patients in a Primary healthcare setting.
There after she stayed in De Aar doing private consults. She gained a vast knowledge on non-communicable diseases including Diabetes, high cholesterol and hypertension. She has an individual approach and spreading the truth about diet, nutrition and what it means to be a healthy individual in this day and age.
